Biloxi City Council Faces More than Two Dozen Issues at Tuesday's Meeting

First Reading of Expanded Noise Ordinance to be Held - City Gives Contractors Approval for Brashier Road Improvements

The Biloxi City Council will face an agenda of more than two dozen issues when council members gather Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at City Hall.

Among the measures: re-zoning of 33 acres to multi-family residential at the north end of Debuys Road, consideration of $45,000 in budgeted funding for social service agencies and events, and the purchase of more than $100,000 in equipment for the Police and Fire departments.

A proposal to amend the city's noise ordinance is also on the agenda. The city is expanding its noise ordinance to include a wide variety of sounds. To see the resolution, click here.

Brashier work: Two contractors have been given the green light by the city to begin work on the Brashier Road improvement project. Warren Paving Co. and J. Levens Builders have been given 280 days – until Aug. 6, 2009 -- to complete the project, which involves road widening and other improvements.
