GCN Filed 10/01/08 PEARL – FEMA and MEMA have opened three disaster recovery centers in Hancock, Harrison and Washington counties to assist residents and businesses affected by Hurricane Gustav. Residents and business owners who suffered damage as a result of the hurricane or were affected by the storm from Aug. 28 to Sept. 8 are encouraged to visit the center if they need assistance or information. Representatives from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration, MEMA and voluntary agencies are available at the centers. The Disaster Recovery Centers are at the following locations from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays until further notice. People in these designated counties may apply for assistance by registering online at www.fema.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired. The toll-free telephone numbers are available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (local time) seven days a week until further notice.
