2004 Cruisin' the Coast Underway

Thousands of custom auto and truck enthusiasts started arriving on the Mississippi Coast for the 2004 Cruisin' the Coast event. Here's a look of just a few of the cars at venues at the Choice Supermarket in Gulfport and at the Copa Casino on Sunday, the first day of the event. And though traffic was heavy, expect big slowdowns as more cruisers and enthusiasts arrive this week. Cities from Oceans to Bay St. Louis are part of the ten day event, which started Sunday, Oct. 3. Cruisin' the Coast has become one of the premiere auto events in the country drawing visitors from across the country.  More like a Mardi Gras on Wheels, the beach highway becomes a spectacle of brightly painted custom cars as they cruise from one venue to another. Hotels across the coast are filled with Cruisin' visitors.
