Dale Announces Deadline for Residential Electronic Protection Services License Applications

Jackson -Commissioner of Insurance and State Fire Marshal, George Dale announced today, Sept. 25, that all companies, technicians, installers, salespersons and apprentices which offer and/or install electronic protective systems, burglar alarm systems, closed circuit television alarm systems, or offer services to such alarms and systems to the public must apply for a license from the Residential Electronic Protection Division of the State Fire Marshal's Office by November 1, 2006.
The Residential Electronic Protection Division of the State Fire Marshal's Office was created by the Mississippi Residential Electronic Protection Licensing Act passed by the last full session of the Mississippi Legislature.
"This new legislation and creation of a new division within the Fire Marshal's office is a positive step in providing further safety protections from fire and theft to all Mississippians, "said Dale.
Applications for several different classes of licenses and the Mississippi Residential Electronic Protection Licensing Act Rules and Regulations can be accessed through the Mississippi Insurance Department website at www.doi.state.ms.us.
