Weather Service Issues Flash Flood Watch
The National Weather Service has placed Biloxi and the surrounding coastal areas under a flash flood watch from noon Thursday to noon Friday because of heavy rainfall expected Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.
A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
The weather service reported that a potent storm system will impact the Coast Thursday and early Friday, and moisture from the Gulf and a warm front will cause rainfall Thursday, with a slow-moving cold front causing heavier rainfall Thursday night and Friday morning.
Local emergency managers reports that weather models show that as much as 3 to 5 inches of rainfall may occur.
