Hancock County Long Term Recovery Committee to Merge with Housing Resource Center

The Hancock County Long Term Recovery Committee (LTRC)  Board of Directors is considering a merger with the Hancock County Housing Resource Center (previously known as the Housing One Stop).

At the October 17 Board meeting, a resolution was passed unanimously supporting the merger, pending input from the general membership of the Long Term Recovery Committee. A General Membership Meeting will be held on Monday, October 29th at 10:00 a.m. at the new location of the Long-term Recovery Committee (the Hancock Chamber office at 412 Highway 90, Suite 6 in Bay St. Louis). The purpose of this meeting is to gain input from members of the committee regarding this proposed merger.

The Long-Term Recovery Office is also being relocated to the offices of the Hancock Chamber of Commerce. The Hancock Chamber offices currently house the Hancock County Community Development Foundation, the SBA Disaster assistance office, the Bucks Mont Katrina Project, The Arts Hancock County and the Hancock County Housing Resource Center. The location is 412 Highway 90, Suite 6 in Bay St. Louis.

In related news, Jay Huffstatler has resigned as the Executive Director of the Long-Term Recovery Committee and has accepted a position with the Gulf Coast Community Foundation working with the administration of the Hurricane Recovery Fund. . The Board has appointed Sherry-Lea Bloodworth as the interim director of the LTRC.
