Mississippi Senators Among Few to Vote FOR Mexican Trucks

As reported by the Mississippi Federation for Immigration Reform and Enforcement (MFIRE) Wednesday, September 11th, the Senate voted 74-24 prohibiting the Transportation Department from spending money on a NAFTA pilot program giving Mexican trucks greater access to U.S. highways.  Trent Lott and Thad Cochran, voted against Americans and for Mexico.  They were two of only 24 senators to vote against the Dorgan amendment.  MFIR says Trent Lott's vote is not surprising, considering his unwavering support for amnesty for illegal aliens and his disregard of what Mississippians want.  However, Thad Cochran is up for reelection in 2008. 

MFIR noted that every senator of every state bordering Mississippi (except Senator Vitter of Louisiana) voted for Americans by voting yes on the Dorgan amendment.  Here is the recap:
