Ocean Springs, MS – In the holiday spirit that characterizes South Mississippi residents, author Daisy Karam-Read will sign copies of her new book, From Manhattan to Mississippi: A New Yorker Falls in Love with the South. The signing will take place on Sunday, December 2nd, from 1:30 – 4:30 P.M. in the Board Room of the beautiful Gulf Hills Hotel & Conference Center.

Officially released on October 1, 2007, From Manhattan to Mississippi has already appeared on the local best seller list at Barnes & Noble four times and is in its second printing, an extraordinary feat for a first-time author. The event will complement the Kaleidoscope of Homes, a fundraiser sponsored by the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra Guild. Karam-Read will donate $1.00 of every book sold to the Symphony Guild. “My book is really a Valentine to Mississippi and in it, among other things,  I write about two of my favorite aspects of life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast—the romantic,  historic Gulf Hills Hotel & Conference Center and the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra; I’m delighted to be a part of this  fabulous event”, said Karam-Read.

“Daisy’s book reveals so many beautiful, unknown facets of life in Mississippi in general and South Mississippi in particular. The fact that she was a resident of Gulf Hills makes this book even more poignant and we are pleased to have her with us on this exciting occasion,” said Donna Brown, General Manager of Gulf Hills Hotel & Conference Center.

The Gulf Hills Hotel & Conference Center is located at 13701 Paso Road, Ocean Springs. For further information, please call (228) 875-4211.
