Mississippi Gulf Coast Hires Zimmerman Agency for Advertising

From: Harrison County Tourism Commission  Filed 4/11/07 GCN

During the Harrison County Tourism Commission meeting on Tuesday, April 10, commission attorney Hugh Keating of Dukes, Dukes, Keating and Faneca reported that the advertising services contract has been signed with Zimmerman Agency, an advertising agency in Tallahassee, FL.

Zimmerman was one of five agencies chosen to make a presentation to the tourism commission and its marketing partners on February 13, 2007 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center.  Over forty marketing partners viewed all of the presentations and provided feedback.  “This was such a significant decision and we are very appreciative to all of our marketing partners who participated in this process,” said Nicole Learson, director of marketing for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau.  “Every facet of the tourism industry was represented from our casinos to our hoteliers to our local attractions and retailers,” Learson remarked.

Zimmerman will assume the advertising services responsibilities for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau, including enhanced branding for the destination through new marketing strategies. Zimmerman replaces Turkel of Coconut Grove, Florida as the agency of record for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Advertising vendors for print should direct their material to Zimmerman’s print buyer Kim Grissom at kgrissom@zimmerman.com.  Advertising vendors for broadcast should direct their material to Zimmerman’s broadcast buyer Kim Smalls, ksmalls@zimmerman.com.  The mailing address and phone number are as follows:

Nicole Learson, CVB marketing director, is the primary Mississippi Gulf Coast liaison with Zimmerman and all advertising vendors. Inquiries can be directed to nicolel@gulfcoast.org or 228-896-6699 ext. 211.
