Coast Transit Authority Buses Assisting With Transporting
People From Area Shelters
Regular Bus Routes to Resume Wednesday

Coast Transit Authority is assisting the American Red Cross and the
Harrison County Schools today in transporting people that spent the night
in storm shelters in Harrison County back to their homes or to one of the
two Mass Shelters. With the exception of RT#24 Keesler and RT#26 NCBC CTA
resumed service on all Fixed Routes at 12:00 p.m. today. The routes will
operate until their regularly scheduled stop time.
CTA will operate all Fixed Routes on their regular
schedules effective Wednesday, September 3. ADA Paratransit and Senior
Citizen services for Harrison and Hancock Counties will not resume until
Thursday, September 4. Transportation for dialysis patients will resume on
Wednesday, September 3.
CTA will manage the return from Jackson of Harrison
County evacuees. The buses from Jackson will arrive on Wednesday,
September 3 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. CTA will provide transportation
back to the community pick up points that the evacuees were picked up from
and to their residences if they were picked up there. Those that do not
have a place to go will be taken to a local shelter.
