As of 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, travel within Harrison County is limited to checking on homes and businesses and for going to and from work.
The restriction on travel is imposed to reduce traffic congestion and prevent collisions. Numerous traffic lights are not working and many streets are closed due to downed trees and other hazards, which are conditions significantly raising the risk for motor vehicle crashes.
If you do not have an imperative reason to travel, please stay in your home or in other shelter and stay off the streets. Officials strongly discourage travel for sight-seeing. Law enforcement will be working to ensure compliance with these travel restrictions.
