Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd is declaring an immediate curfew for all of the county’s unincorporated area the remainder of Monday, Sept. 1. A “dawn to dusk” curfew will be effect for Tuesday, Sept. 2. Sheriff Byrd implemented the curfew after numerous reports of residents sight seeing, driving through dangerous road conditions, and stalled vehicles in standing water. The County’s Road Department is reporting 15 roads are currently impassable because of flooding or fallen trees. Crews have already cleared three roads with downed trees this morning in the Franklin Creek Community. All official County announcements and news releases will come from the County’s Emergency Management Office and/or Public Information Office. All pre-storm updates will also be posted on the County’s website for verification.
