Following Hurricane Gustav, all state highways have been re-opened for travel and signals are all operational, the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) would like to remind citizens not to pile debris along the state right of ways.
MDOT crews have conducted their final pass through state highways to remove debris following Hurricane Gustav.
District Six Maintenance Engineer Todd Jordan said the department reminds the public that dumping debris along the highway is both unsightly and dangerous to motorists.
“We appreciate the way the public and local government personnel assisted MDOT with debris removal after the flooding of Highway 90 this week,” said Jordan. “The clean-up operation has now ended and property owners are urged not to illegally dump materials back onto highway right of ways.”
