Gov. Haley Barbour will be in attendance when the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency renames the State Emergency Operations Center in his honor. The Mississippi Legislature voted in 2011 to place Gov. Barbour’s name on the building to honor his leadership through several natural disasters that have struck Mississippi, including Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

The building dedication ceremony will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, at MEMA and will feature U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker. The MEMA building is located at 1 MEMA Drive in Pearl
