Gulfport City Council to Consider New Planning Commission
Appointment by Keith Burton - GCN 6/17/08 Gulfport City Council should be a hot place to be today as the council is to consider a wide range of issues including an appointments to the city's Planning Commission. The council will also received the city's 2007 annual audit and make several adjustments to its budget. Fuel costs are also on the agenda as city councilmembers will be considering a budget amendment to accommodate recent increases in fuel costs. The council will also hear a proposal to swap land for Fire Station #7. There is the possibility that the Warr administration may also introduce a measure regarding the selection of members to the new Gulfport Development Commission. Councilwoman Libby Roland has placed on the agenda a letter requesting that the city defer acting on the issuance of building permits within areas of R-2 in West Gulfport.
