
Mississippi Gaming Commission Orders Closure of Casinos in
Hancock and Harrison Counties

to the impending threat of Hurricane Gustav, the Mississippi Gaming
Commission announced this evening the decision to serve executive orders
to the 12 casinos on the Mississippi Gulf Coast to begin closure
procedures at 7:00 a.m., Sunday, August 31, 2008.
At that time, all
patrons will be escorted off of the casinos and the casinos employees,
working with Mississippi Gaming Commission agents and auditors, will begin
preparations to close their doors.
All of the
casinos on the Mississippi Gulf Coast must have closure proceedings
completed and their doors sealed by 3:00 p.m. Sunday. Working closely
with the Department of Civil Defense, the Mississippi Gaming Commission
made the decision to issue closure orders to ensure the safety of all
patrons and casino employees.
