Residents to Stand Against New Offshore Oil and Gas Leasing at Hands Across the Sand

Gulfport, MS - On Saturday, May 20th, coast residents will join hands on the beach at noon to stand in solidarity against offshore drilling in Mississippi's waters and new oil and gas leasing in the Gulf of Mexico.

Hands Across the Sand is an international day of unity to raise awareness about the consequences of offshore drilling. Even as the Trump administration moves to open new areas, like the Eastern Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic, to drilling, thousands of citizens across the nation will be drawing a line in the sand against new oil and gas leasing.

We will begin to gather at 11:30 am at Ken Combs Pier. At noon, we will join hands on the beach to stand in solidarity.
