Jim Hood Sworn into Third Term as Attorney General
Attorney General Jim Hood (D) has been sworn into his third term of
office. The official ceremony took place today at 2pm at the State
Capitol.
Attorney General Hood took the oath of office with his mother, father,
sister, brother, wife and three children by
“I thank God, my family and our great State for the opportunity to serve
another four years,” said Attorney General Hood. “I am excited to
continue some of our greatest fights, especially those to protect the
elderly and those against internet predators and dangerous counterfeit
goods.”

The new year marked the beginning of Attorney General Hood’s third term.
He was first sworn into the office in January 2004 and was re-elected in
2007 to a second term. Attorney General Hood won his third term with 61%
of the vote against his challenger.
“I am extremely proud of the team we have in place at the Attorney
General’s Office,” said Attorney General Hood. “Protecting Mississippi
is our motto and will guide every step we take over the next four years.
