Jackson County Garbage, Recycling and Debris Removal Information

Residents are asked to follow the following debris removal guidelines:


·       Hurricane Nate storm debris removal for residents has begun and residents are asked to gather debris and place it at curbside now.

·       Debris should not be in the road, under or over utility or power poles, near trees, fences or mailboxes. 

·       Debris should be cut to manageable lengths; limbs no longer than 8 feet, limbs or tree trunks greater than 18 inches in diameter should be no longer than 3-4 feet

·       Leaves and straw can be placed in bags. Do not place water bottles, cans or such in bags with leaves and straw.


Storm Debris removal will end Friday, November 3, 2017. Storm Debris not picked up by that date, after that day will be the property owners’ responsibility.


Regular Rubbish Route Schedules and rubbish pick-up policies and restrictions will resume November 6, 2017.




The County has extended its hours of operation of the Rubbish Site for residents. Those hours are 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Extended hours will end Friday, November 3, 2017.


Residents are asked to follow the following Rubbish Site guidelines:


·       All storm related debris must be segregated for placement at appropriate facilities in the rubbish site. All loads are inspected at the gate and at the unloading area. Loads containing mixed and unauthorized waste will be denied entrance and turned away.

·       As always, the Rubbish Site is not permitted to accept waste from contractors or businesses.

·       Must have Jackson County tag on vehicle and proof of residence. If military must have proof of residence in Jackson County.

·       Special Waste (i.e.) Electronic Waste, Garbage or Household Hazardous Waste will not be picked-up.

·       Regular Rubbish Site hours will resume November 4, 2017.


Regular garbage and recycling pick-up for the unincorporated areas of Jackson County will follow its regular pick up schedule.
