Jackson County Offices Closed November 23 & 24 for Thanksgiving

In observance of Thanksgiving, most Jackson County offices will be closed on November 23-24. Exceptions and additions to holiday schedule changes include:


  • The County Landfill on Seaman Road will also be CLOSED on Saturday, November 25
  • The Animal Shelter will be OPEN on Saturday November 25 during normal hours (10 a.m.– 2p.m.)
  • Waste Pro (garbage and recycling services) will not run on Thanksgiving Day, but will just run a day behind.
  • The County’s Whispering Pines Golf Course will be closed Thursday but OPEN for tee times beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday, November 24. The course is located at 18412 Highway 613 in Hurley. For more information and to set tee times, visit www.wpgolfcourse.com or call 228-588-6111.


County offices will all be open with their regular schedules beginning Monday, November 27. Although offices will be closed, residents can take care of some official business through the County’s website, www.co.jackson.ms.us
