New Surf Style Soon to Open in Gulfport
by Keith Burton - GCN  6/10/08

One of the few beachfront businesses to locate in Gulfport since Katrina will soon open in the empty new Rite-Aid drug store building on U.S. 90 and Courthouse Road.

A Surf Style store will soon grace the busy intersection. The beach clothing and novelty store is going into the location that once was a Rite-Aid drug store before hurricane Katrina. The building is new, but has been unoccupied since its reconstruction last year. Rite Aid chose not to occupy the building.

Tuesday, landscaping contractors were working all around the building. They had removed the dead grass and laid new grass on the site as well as installed an irrigation system. The landscapers also planted new trees along the edge of the roadway.

Surf Style has a store in Biloxi. The company operates over two dozen stores extending from Florida into Mississippi.
