JC Planning Department will hold a Public Meeting regarding rezoning Phase I of Cook Road Connector on August 24

From:  News Release   8/23/17   GCN

The Jackson County Planning Department will hold a Public Meeting regarding the future Rezoning of Phase I of the I-10/Cook Road Corridor Plan to Corridor Commercial (C-4). The meeting is open to the public and will be held on Thursday, August 24 from 4-6 p.m. at the St. Martin Community Center located at 15008 Lemoyne Boulevard.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and address any concerns residents may have about the Plan’s recommended zoning amendments, land use controls, and design requirements that are expected to be considered during the Planning Commission’s September 20, 2017 meeting.

As stated in a letter that was sent to all affected property owners, the County has been working on the I-10/Cook Road Corridor Plan for several years in an effort to encourage, accommodate and better manage commercial growth as it expands east from the Promenade and Sangani Boulevard into Jackson County. Corridor Commercial (C-4) Districts are similar to Highway Commercial Districts, but with more focus on ‘big box’ and regional developments.

If anyone has questions they are encouraged to contact the Planning Department at 228-769-3056.
