The Stunning Scarlet Pearl Casino
20+ Years Worth the Wait

Story and Photos by:  Deborah Heylman   GCN   12/9/15

The Grand Opening was today at 11:00 am, and the Scarlet Pearl is positioned to meet and exceed everyone's expectations.  A grand fireworks show at 6:00 p.m. on the Back Bay is befitting this lush, exciting property.

 Upon Entrance

Architecturally, Nory Hazaveh, architect for the Scarlet Pearl Resort has accomplished a spectacular achievement. His unique use of striking finishes  is arranged to create an exciting cohesiveness between commercial and artistic.

Shapes and textures abound in what would otherwise be empty spaces.  The casino floor is expansive, shimmering, open and inviting.  Circles are a major theme with many one-of-a-kind chandeliers being round or oblique to match the circular design of the colorful, lush carpeting.

Undulating lighting enhances the spectacular metal ceiling that creates its own opulent design experience.

High-tech, polished, lustrous and glamorous is what comes to mind upon entrance through the  porte cochere, where the circular theme is first experienced.   Upon arrival to the Scarlett Pearl, attention to detail is apparent and intriguing.

Technology is certainly at the forefront with new, high tech slots, some of which seem to have a interactive quality about them.  Many well positioned, sleek kiosks are easily visible throughout the casino floor.

Aptly named, the Waterfront Buffet highlights a wall of windows featuring the picturesque Back Bay. The semi-circular scheme features soup, salad, Asian, Italian and comfort foods.  This design is refreshing and fully highlights the loveliness of D'Iberville's southern boundary.

For those wanting a quick, easy bite there is Chopstx Noodle.  Others who might prefer a fine dining venue will be welcomed at the Scarlett Grill. For a more casual experience Under the Oak Cafe diners can enjoy an "outside" atmosphere complete with a manufactured live oak tree that sprawls into a circular, sky-blue rotunda.

 Rooms with a View

Architect Hazaveh has created unique polygon shaped rooms that ensure each of the 234 deluxe rooms, 56 suites and 10 penthouse suites have magnificent, extraordinary views that highlight the boundless beauty of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Panoramic views feature the Ocean Springs bridge,  Biloxi Back Bay, the I-100 bridge and beyond.  These views are unobstructed at daybreak, mid-day, dusk and evening by way of the wall-to-wall, ceiling-to-floor windows.

Every stay promises to be distinctively different than the last with the uniquely-shaped rooms and the different seasons of the year be it winter, spring, summer, fall or Mardi Gras.

Opening Day and Beyond

In anticipation of players needs on opening day and beyond, numerous mobile ambassadors will be available to sign up players needing a Players Reward card.  The ambassadors will circulate the casino floor so that waiting time is minimized.

Player Rewards cards can also be obtained prior to opening by signing up online and picking up cards at  10598 D'Iberville Blvd.

Lava Links Miniature Golf

Lastly, but certainly not least, Lava Links is a 36 hole miniature golf course that has two separate 18 hole courses that can be played separately or as one. There is also a handicap accessible course. Lava Links has an  erupting volcano complete with flourishing, soon-to-be well groomed grounds.

Lava Links is welcoming and available to both locals as well as out-of-state visitors and is easily accessible with separate parking.

The design of the gaming floor, the restaurants, the suites, guest rooms and Lava Links miniature golf, is thoughtful and profoundly memorable.

Every aspect of the Scarlett Pearl Resort seems to have been accomplished with an extraordinary guest experience and satisfaction in mind.
