WLOX-TV in partnership with IP Resort & Spa Biloxi are excited to announce auditions for Gulf Coast Idol. These auditions will be preliminary try-outs for the TV program American Idol debuting on the ABC Television Network in early 2018.

WLOX is proud to combine the strength of our station with this powerhouse program,” said Rick Williams, Vice President and General Manager of WLOX Television. “And to partner with the IP Resort and Spa is a pleasure and will be great for the contestants.”

American Idol is the most popular music reality show in U.S. television history.

IP Resort and Spa is the best place on the Coast to catch some of the best musical entertainers. It was a natural fit for IP to join forces with WLOX, ABC and American Idol to bring this talent search to the Coast,” said Kim Goetz, Director of Marketing for IP Resort & Spa. “We are excited to be a part of this landmark opportunity and to help identify and advance two talented participants to the next level.”

Two winning contestants will receive a Silver Ticket and round-trip limousine transportation to the New Orleans American Idol audition on Thursday, September 14. The Silver Ticket allows contestants to skip the line and audition directly for American Idol producers. They will also receive a cash prize of $2,500 each courtesy IP Resort & Spa and two iPad Minis from Virginia College.

Auditions will be held on the stage in Studio A at IP Resort & Spa in Biloxi.

The dates of the auditions are:

Wednesday, August 23, 30, and September 6 from 7pm – 10pm. Check in will be from 6pm – 7pm

Contestants can sing acapella, play piano and sing, or play guitar and sing. The piano will be provided.

They will be evaluated by three local entertainment industry experts. Each Gulf Coast Idol audition night will be hosted by local celebrity and performance veteran David Delk.

I am truly excited to be a part of this talent search,” said Delk. “Our area has an abundance of great singers and I can’t wait to see them in the spotlight, and I can’t wait for the Gulf Coast Idol winners to audition for American Idol!”
