250 Volunteers Needed in Bay St. Louis for Playground Reconstruction

Bay St. Louis, MS The playground at the Old City Hall in Bay St. Louis, damaged by Hurricane Katrina, will be reconstructed on Saturday, December 17.  To undertake the rebuilding of this playground, used by Bay St. Louis area children, there is a request for 250 people to provide volunteer labor.  The playground is located behind the Old City Hall, 301 North 2nd Street, in Bay St. Louis.  People can park at the Depot and walk over to the playground.

The non-profit organization, KaBOOM!, has donated the playground equipment and organized this playground rebuilding event.

People can sign up at the site at 8 AM and breakfast will be served.  The volunteer workers will be needed until 3:00 PM and please wear comfortable clothing.  Snacks will be served.  Children are welcome and there will be activities for them throughout the day.

A ribbon cutting for the rebuilt playground will be held at 2:30 PM.

Other ways for people to get involved include:

1.  Bring general building tools such as shovels, rock rakes, cement hoes, post hole diggers,   drills and wheels barrows.

2.  Bring baked goods to serve throughout the day as snacks.
