Carter Green Steakhouse Opens at Island View Casino Resort

Carter Green Steakhouse, Island View Casino Resort’s newest restaurant, opened yesterday adding an upscale dining concept to the Gulfport resort’s food and beverage offerings.

The signature restaurant’s concept is modeled in the classic American steakhouse tradition, offering hearty but creative dishes in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The focus for the 200-seat restaurant is on fine dining with a casual, relaxed attitude.

The menu begins with specialty appetizers, such as savory buffalo-chicken cheesecake for $7, tenderloin carpaccio for $9 and smoked duck breast for $8. Soup or salad is included with all entrees and the choices include the steakhouse salad, fresh fruit mélange and potato leek soup.

The U.S.D.A. Prime steak offerings are presented in a variety of cuts, including the New York strip for $34, filet mignon for $36, rib-eye for $29 and T-bone for $35. There is also a veal porterhouse chop for $32. The meat selections can be served with a variety of accents, including jumbo-lump crabmeat for $6, béarnaise sauce or a Maker’s Mark demi glace, for $3 each.

Other entrees include roasted Amish chicken for $21, Niman Ranch lamb for $30 and live Boston lobsters, priced by the quarter pound.

Special Carter Green menu features include a chef’s tasting, with 12 courses for $50, and the Prime Rib Club every Monday night, offering prime rib prepared in British fashion with tangy horseradish-cream sauce and rich au jus for $18 to $23.

The restaurant also features the Bubble Bar, an intimate lounge serving cocktails and bite-sized appetizers. And when bubbles fill the room, the next round of beverages are half price.

Carter Green Steakhouse is open for dinner service Thursday, Sunday and Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. For reservations or group information, please call (228) 314-1515.
