Improved Services Added to Coast Transit Authority Routes

From:  News Release   3/24/17   GCN

Coast Transit Authority announces Spring route changes, with several route improvements to benefit ridership and enhance services. Riders on Gulfport Route 37 will now travel aboard a 29-foot Clean-Air Hybrid Electric bus. The Hybrid Electric bus utilizes the latest technology to operate more efficiently to protect the environment. “We’re seeing a steady increase in ridership on this route and with the larger bus, we will be able to meet the demand and accommodate our riders during peak travel times,” said Kevin Coggin, Executive Director.

On Sunday, April 2, CTA will add Sunday service to their Casino Hopper route. The addition will provide Casino Hopper service every 25 minutes, 7-days a week, from 5:30am – 9:26pm Monday thru Saturday and from 8:30am - 7:11pm on Sunday. The Hopper trolley travels throughout the Biloxi Loop to local casinos, attractions and businesses along Highway 90, Caillavet Street and Bayview Avenue.

The CTA 2017 Spring Rider’s Guide is now available on all buses, at each transit center and at the CTA office located at 333 DeBuys Road in Gulfport. This free publication is a comprehensive guide to all the services offered by Coast Transit Authority, including fares, route maps and time schedules. It is published in both English and Spanish and available online at coasttransit.com.
